Review: His Reluctant Mob Queen: A Billionaire Mob Boss Romance

His Reluctant Mob Queen: A Billionaire Mob Boss Romance His Reluctant Mob Queen: A Billionaire Mob Boss Romance by Jennifer Osprey
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Time filler

I loved the premise of the book. But I could not connect emotionally with either Vincent or Rachel. The reader is supposed to believe the emotional turmoil of our characters as they navigate the unconventional relationship. However, we are mostly told that they are spending time together. We do not get to see this interaction or how the intimacy between Vincent and Rachel grows. In a similar vein, we are told that the family embraces her, especially the women but we aren't really privy to this. Add in some convoluted betrayal; Vincent promising to be 'better' and Rachel 'proving' herself.

Kicker for me? A mafia story with the heat level of vanilla ice cream.
