Review: Dangerous Temptation

Dangerous Temptation Dangerous Temptation by Giana Darling
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Beware the darkness and taboo!

So let's satisfy the safety squad and highlight the following:
Part one of a duet, with a cliffhanger (and a short prequel (more extended prologue) as well) - which also makes rating the book a bit difficult - I will update the rating once I finish the duet if necessary.
Age gap with heroine only 17 (age of consent in NY) and hero 30
Guardian/ward, enemies to lovers tropes.

Giana has a way with words that gives a flow to her prose that is unique and compelling. This book illustrates the great use of prose.

On the characters: Bianca is both mature in certain aspects but very naive in her interactions with Tiernan. Both have emotional scars from their childhood, but Tiernan is cruel more often than not in his interactions with Bianca. However, Brando, Bianca's younger epileptic brother, brings out Tiernan's more human side. Bianca and Tiernan have loads of sexual tension, and there were good steamy scenes. But the emotional connection is slower to form, and it is here that book 2 will need to do some heavy lifting.

The side characters were entertaining and a good break for the more heavy storyline between Tiernan and Bianca.

Overall a book I can recommend.
